Many of the courses offered in the certification of restoration technicians  are online courses so it is essential these courses be reviewed and monitored for quality and to be sure that they meet the standards set forth by the EPA, OSHA, American Council for the Accredited Certification (ACAC) and state guidelines and standards.

These courses should be designed to help the contractor understand and aid in the disaster recovery process. It is clear that in the disaster restoration profession that contractors can find it difficult to command the the time to attend live in person classes, so many companies have designed online study courses to aid in this regard.

While we agree that an alternative method of certification is needed for the working professionals, with added benefits of reducing cost, we are also aware that some would take advantage of this need with less than adequate training, hence the need for our review process.

We believe any certification course should provide fire restoration, water restoration, mold remediation and other related restoration certification, in order to give a broader understanding of the the inner relation of the damage restoration industry as a whole.

We at American Restoration Systems have found consistently that online restoration courses that offered by a company and then listed on the nchh.org website’s training calendar for most part are trusted courses of  study that meet our criteria as the NCHH conducts research to find scientifically valid and practical strategies for making homes safe and healthy.

The gold standard bearer in online education and certification for restoration professionals  is the International Restoration Institute.  industry in-field professionals and contractors dedicated to helping victims of property damage return to their normal lives. International Restoration Institutes is accredited through the Accredited Learning Program (ALP) and registered with the American Council for the Accredited Certification (ACAC).

As with any certification program when it is required, you will always see an increase in the number of companies filing in to offer the courses for the profit as opposed to what should be the and is the attitude of the professionals and contractors in restoration who are dedicated to helping victims of property damage return to their normal lives.

Americas Restoration Systems work is to review the professionals so the consumers and their insurance companies get the results they are entitled to and pay for.
